Uxbridge Storage is the Solution when Downsizing

There are many reasons why you might be considering downsizing your property. Perhaps your children have grown up and moved out and the house is simply too big for you now, you could be downsizing due to financial reasons, or because you have been relocated at work to an area where property prices are higher. Whatever your reason for downsizing may be, don’t be afraid that this will mean you having to get rid of all of your things, it doesn’t, there are plenty of storage options available to you in the Uxbridge area as well as UK wide.
In Uxbridge there are two types of storage available. There are traditional storage companies and there are the newer self-storage companies. Both are similar in concept. You rent a space that is big enough to house all of your things, and the storage company keeps the safe for you until you can house the again. There are some differences between storage and self-storage companies though:
Storage companies:
These types of companies rent a space in their warehouse to you. You take your belongings to the storage company and they will place them into your storage space for you. Obviously you can see this space. Whilst your belongings will more than likely be perfectly safe, it is important to note here that most likely all of the staff at the storage company will be able to gain access to your things.
Uxbridge Self-storage companies:
Self-storage companies operate in a slightly different way to storage companies. Rather than offering you a space within the warehouse, they offer you a storage room or container, the benefit of this being that you store your things yourself, lock them away and hold onto the key. The only way someone else can gain access to your belongings is if you were to fall behind on your rent payments and the company had to try to recover some of their losses.
The benefits of using storage or self-storage companies:
These companies are designed specifically for people who are downsizing and need a place to keep some of their belongings, and as a result they tailor their services to helping wherever possible.
• Both storage and self-storage companies are able to offer you a number of different sized storage facilities, this means that whatever you want to store whether it is an expensive necklace or large pieces of furniture, you will be able to find a space that is ideally sized.
• Security is essential when you are giving a company some of your most sentimental and expensive things to hold onto, and most storage and self-storage companies will have good quality security measures in place.
• Most storage and self-storage companies will include insurance, this will either be included in the quote or offered at an additional charge. This covers you in the vent of something happening to your belongings, for example something getting damaged or stolen from your Uxbridge storage space.
• Some companies will be able to offer collection of your things from your home, meaning you don’t have to take them to the storage company yourself. This is ideal if you do not have any transportation of your own, or you are storing more than will fit into your own vehicle and don’t particularly want to hire a van for this purpose.
• You will be allowed to access your things whenever you like, there are no limitations, and if any are imposed upon you then you should question this before agreeing to use the company and rent a storage space.
