Minimise The Stress Of W2 Office Removals
Posted on 02/09/2014
Moving offices is a very busy and stressful time, having a lot to think about, prepare and do to ensure the move goes smoothly can be quite daunting. Therefore, you should try to minimise the stress involved in moving offices to the W2 area as much as you can.
Before you jump into making any decisions that could potentially back fire and cause you stress, you should consider the following questions and properly plan and coordinate your move:
• What budget can you allocate to moving office? Remember this not only includes things like removal company fees, but it also includes rent for the new office, any new furniture or equipment that might be needed and any other additional charges you can think of. Break down the budget that you have set in place, how much are you going to allow for rental costs? How much are you willing to pay for W2 removals? How much can you allocate to updating the company stationary with the new address and contact details? Can you allocate funds to new furniture and equipment? Thinking about this and making these decisions will help you to not go over budget and spend more money than you have.
• Do you have the approval from the relevant managers and supervisors to move offices? If the business is your own then you may not need to worry about this.
• Do you have staff members that you can trust to help you to organise the W2 office move?
• Build yourself a moving office timetable. Include everything you can think of into this timetable, for example:
o Month One: view office
o Month Two: decide on your favourite office.
o Month Three: secure office space
o Month Five: move into new office
Obviously your schedule will be much more detailed than this, including any decisions you need to make and anything you need to organise. Organising yourself in this way will help you to avoid having an overlap in office spaces and having to pay for two.
You will also want to consider some questions about your new office, this will help you to decide which offices to view and ultimately which office to choose. Here are some questions specifically related to the office that you should consider, especially when you are deciding which one to rent:
• Where would you like your new office to be? Think about not only what is best for you and your company but also whether your locations is agreeable to your customers too.
• When does your new office need to be ready for?
• What size would you like your new office to be? You will need your office to be big enough for you to expand and hire more staff, but not so big that your company and its staff look lost in the space.
• Consider the lease, what type would you like it to be and for how long?
• Consider additional things such as car parking, that might be important to you.
When you have chosen your new office, consider:
• Designing the layout of your new office is a good idea, allocate a space of the office to the various teams, allocate office’s to staff that require them and most importantly (especially if you are bringing clients into the office) ensure you have a meeting room.
• Think about where you are going to put computer, phones, internet connections. Think about where computers will need to be and how you are going to go about networking these.
• Tell your clients and suppliers that you are moving offices and give them your new contact details.
• Set up a postal re-direction service.
